About the Census Business & Industry Data Center (BIDC) program
The Business and Industry Data Center Program was started in 1988 by the U.S. Census Bureau as an expansion of the State Data Center Program. The BIDC Program is designed to meet the growing need of public and private decision makers for statistics. The Census Bureau promotes the BIDC Program as a means to increase the public's awareness of economic and demographic data and to make wider use of this data.
The Census Bureau identifies BIDC members as entities with a role in economic development, or who are otherwise qualified to deal with diverse economic and demographic data. A principal requirement is that a BIDC organization be non-profit, whether public or private.
The following table of Connecticut SDC affiliates is arranged in three categories,
(1) Regional Planning Agencies, (2) State Agency Affiliates, and (3) Other Non-Profit Agencies.
