Who May Request Embargo Access?
Access to the Connecticut State Data Center embargo releases including summary documents, press release templates, data visualizations, and raw data are limited to individuals approved for embargo access representing media outlets that give their chief attention to the gathering and reporting of news. Embargo applicants must be employed by or represent news outlets that regularly publish or broadcast a substantial volume of news material for public consumption. Embargo access is granted on an individual basis only and should not be shared with unapproved colleagues or associates.
Data Focused Groups/Organizations/Agencies
Individuals who are actively working on time sensitive data reports and analysis may also be granted embargo access on a case by case basis. Applicants must be employed or represent a Connecticut based state agency, non-profit, regional planning organization, municipality, or business which develops analysis and reports which are made publicly available. Embargo access is granted on an individual basis only and should not be shared with unapproved colleagues or associates.
What Information is Restricted During the Embargo?
Embargoed summary documents, press release templates, data visualizations, and raw data may not be released to the public by any means (including print, broadcast, Internet, podcast, social media, photos, text messages, blogs, or in any other form) before the specified date and time of release. Failure to adhere to this embargo policy will result in the removal of embargo privileges for the individual or organization which has not complied with the embargo as well as resulting in the removal of embargo access to other users to ensure data remains secure prior to the public release.

How do I Request Embargo Access?
If you are a media or data focused group/organization/agency you may request embargo access to the 2015 – 2040 Population Projections for the State of Connecticut via the Embargo Access form.
